How long before I have to upgrade my tank?
I recently got bitten by the bug of aquariums! I bought an Elite 21 for my son and soon took over (He’s only 3 anyway so it’s more of an excuse to buy a tank). Using local aquarium shops for advise, each one saying different, I went with the smallest number suggested… The tank is 21litres and I was told I could have up to 6 Black Moors, Orandas and Fantails (mixed) in a tank of this size at the most. Knowing that was WRONG, I went with the smallest suggestion of 3 (2 Black Moors and one Fantail). Now I find that again it was WRONG! I am about to receive an Elite 35 (35 litres) which I will be moving them to after a quick cycle but how long would I be able to keep them in here before having to upgrade? I have my eyes on a 120litre tank atm, but I dont want to have to spend 2 weeks wages on one so soon after spending as much as I have already on EVERYTHING from maintenance, equipment and fish ect! (As I’m sure you can appreciate that this is an expensive hobby if cash is short).
