For an informal project (schoolwork), a Research & Development representative of a company that makes a popular brand of bedtime formula was being interviewed.
He was asked about the concept behind those type of formula.
His answer was that there really is no (additional) nutritional value in bedtime formula, because it was made not with babies in mind, but parents.
Or in short, it was made for parent’s best interests, not babies’ needs.

The only difference between that and regular formula is that they add more stuff that’s difficult to digest by babies’ little tummies, so that it stays longer.

A decade ago, he added, some of these additional stuff were not even approved to be used in babies’ formula. As time goes on, there’s an increasing needs to knock babies out cold for longer, so it became approved.

"It’s just like fishing equipment…" he said, "…you don’t make fishing rods according to the fishes’ needs, do you?"

Now I’m just a mom and I don’t know the scientific fact behind this, but I would think twice before stuffing my baby with things that I know will upset his body, only to get an extra hour of sleep.

In fact, I would appreciate if anyone can provide a link about this.
I breastfeed.
It’s just that many people I know are suggesting this bedtime formula.
Oh and btw, I’m not asking for a solution to make babies sleep longer.
This is just something that I thought was worth rethinking.

My son just doesn’t enjoy those things, and that’s fine by me, I think he shouldn’t be forced into them just cause my husband likes those things. He cant understand that all kids are different and that cause he’s a boy does not neccessarily mean he’ll like fishing and soccer.

He’s 8 by the way and would rather read books about dinosaurs and space and things like that, if that’s what makes him happy then I’m happy.

I’ve tried to get them to compromise, I told my son to try an activity once instead of refusing even to try but if he doesn’t like it then he doesnt have to do it again, and I told my husband if he wants to spend time with him then to get involved in the things that interest my son but as of yet he hasn’t made much effort to do so.

He is blaming me for getting him interested in scientific things.

He isnt overweight, he gets physical excercize.
We live near a playground which I take him to most days, he gets plenty of excercize and his weight and health are fine
He’s not our only son by the way

Where to fish in Looe?

I’m going down to Looe for a long weekend on the 13th and was wondering if there are any good spots that anybody can recommend.

I’ve been looking at the pics and it looks nice and rocky so i thought i might take my spinning gear as well as the beachcasters.

I have just got a 70 litre tank and i am in the process of deciding weather to get piranhas or marhine fish. I ahve been told about how much work goes into looking after marhine fish and i was just wondering how much work actually does go into marhine. What sort of things do you have to do, what sort of equipment is needed. so on and on

Like this one?

A man phones home from his office and says to his wife, "I have the chance to go fishing for a week. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime. I have to leave right away. Pack my clothes, my fishing equipment, and especially my blue silk pyjamas. I’ll be home in an hour to pick them up." The man rushes home to grab everything. He hugs his wife, apologizes for the short notice, and then hurries off.
A week later, the man returns and his wife asks, "Did you have a good trip, dear?" The man replies, "Yep, the fishing was great… but you forgot to pack my blue silk pyjamas." His wife smiles and says, "Oh, no I didn’t… I put them in your tackle box!"

After asking a question on this subject I am going to look into buying a small inflatable dinghy.

I enjoy photography, fishing and hiking around my local countryside and a small inflatable would be perfect for exploring the various rivers, small lakes and coastal regions I often come across. Ideally I’d like to use muscle power rather than an outboard, but the inflatable would have to be able to carry me along with my bair box and maybe a little camping gear (no more than a large rucksack).

I presume I’d need a solid bottom on the dinghy rather than the £30 bright-yellow dinghies that can be bought at the beach? Whatever I get will have to fit in a car boot after disassembly.

Thanks for any advice.

Ideally with shopping lists! I’m not too good at planning in advance! I don’t mean a weight loss diet, more a lifestyle diet and cookery book. Thank you.
